What SAJobMarket is
SAJobMarket is a South African job and career guidance website based at sajobmarket.co.za. The platform serves South African job seekers who are looking for vacancy information, career advice, salary data, and practical guidance on the South African hiring market.
We are independently operated and focus specifically on the South African job market. Our content covers all nine provinces, with particular depth in Gauteng and the Western Cape where hiring is most concentrated.
What we publish
SAJobMarket publishes three main types of content:
Vacancy briefs. We monitor publicly available job vacancy information from multiple South African sources and present it as on-site listing briefs. Each brief includes the job title, employer, location, job type, and salary signal where available. The vacancy reading experience is kept on-site so applicants can review the role and start the application process without leaving the page.
Original career guides. We publish comprehensive, original career guides written specifically for South African job seekers. These guides cover topics including how to write a South African CV, how to prepare for job interviews in South Africa, how to apply for government vacancies through the DPSA vacancy circular process, how employment equity and BBBEE work for job seekers, South African salary ranges by sector, job scam awareness and prevention, and sector-specific guides for IT, finance, admin, and logistics roles.
Market reports and sector briefs. We publish periodic reports and briefs that describe the current state of the South African job market, including demand patterns by province and category, salary benchmarks, and sector-specific hiring signals drawn from the monitored vacancy dataset.
Who we serve
Our primary audience is South African job seekers at all experience levels — from school leavers applying for their first position to experienced professionals looking for senior roles. We specifically design content to serve people who may not have access to professional career coaches or expensive recruiter relationships, and who benefit from clear, plain-language information about how South African hiring actually works.
We also serve employers and recruiters who want to reach South African candidates. Our job submission page allows employers to submit vacancies for publication on the platform.
Our editorial standards
SAJobMarket maintains editorial standards that separate our original guides and briefs from raw vacancy data. Original guides are written by the SAJobMarket editorial team and are not reproduced from other sources. They are written in South African English and are specific to the South African employment environment, covering South African legislation (Employment Equity Act, BBBEE Act, POPIA, DPSA procedures) and South African market conditions.
Vacancy information is sourced from publicly available sources including government vacancy circulars and public job boards. We acknowledge the source of each listing and present it through our own on-site brief format rather than as a direct copy of the original listing. We are not a direct employer for any role we list.
For detailed sourcing standards, see our How We Source Jobs page. For publishing standards, see our Editorial Policy.
Privacy and compliance
SAJobMarket applies POPIA-aligned (Protection of Personal Information Act) data handling practices. We maintain a Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Terms and Conditions that govern how personal information submitted through the platform is collected, stored, and used.
